The NEA 15 Rifle: The other Canuck AR

Earl Green  blesses us with a thorough and critical review of the NEA-15 by North Eastern Arms. Here’s the PDF for the article, I’ll work on getting it up here ASAP.

The NEA 15 Rifle: The other Canuck AR

In recent months, many Canadian firearms enthusiasts and shooters have been waiting and watching for a new black rifle offering from a new Canadian company and we finally got one.

North Eastern Arms (NEA) is an extension of North Eastern Aerospace, a company that specializes in high quality, extreme performance aircraft parts. NEA was founded in 2008 in response to a demand for high quality firearm components and they claim to offer improved versatility and construction. In the last couple of years, they have embarked on the design, development and production of increasingly innovative and unique firearms parts and products and they have become a company that Canadian firearms enthusiasts should watch. Jeff Hussey, the CEO of NEA and his military and law enforcement sales officer, Dave McFaul have been instrumental in rolling out a Canadian made AR that has the Canadian shooting public talking.

NEA Swiss Arms Lower @ The Shooting Edge

Last week we reported that North Eastern Arm’s latest product, an AR Mag compatible lower for the Swiss Arms series of rifles, was in production. These lowers are their take on a Canadian made SIG 556 lower. Well they are finally available and can now be found at The Shooting Edge for $499 for the stripped lower. The Shooting Edge is currently in talks with Swiss Arms in order to get Lower Parts Kits with the hope of offering complete lowers. Currently it seems they are only offered as stripped lowers.

NEA’s Canadian Made Swiss Arms Lower

Considering the rarity and price tag of an authentic Factory SIG 556 Lower in Canada, it was bound to happen eventually. North Eastern Arms has finally posted pictures of a near complete Canadian made lower. We’re super excited for NEA and the Canadian market as this can only serve to benefit the black rifle scene in Canadian shooting sports. The Shooting Edge is said to be the dealer for these lowers and will be accepting shipments of these lowers in the coming weeks.

NEA Lower for Swiss Arms Uppers

North Eastern Arms (NEA) keeps teasing us with talk of their up coming AR Mag compatible lower for the Swiss Arms series of rifles. This would allow users to use commonly available and affordable AR magazines as opposed to the more expensive Swiss Arms style rock in magazines. There seems to be a lot of talk and interest over at CanadianGunNutz, but we seem to still lack any pictures of this soon to be announced product. We’ll be sure to have pictures as soon as they are made available by NEA. We love our Canadian manufacturers just quite the teasing.
